How to Measure and Confirm an Automotive Heater Core

Heater cores are compact and often have similar appearances. Correct measurement and pipe-layout information are especially important when a readable OE number is unavailable.

Separate core size from overall size

State whether width and height refer to the finned core or the complete assembly. Include thickness and identify whether tanks, pipes, seals, and brackets are included in the overall measurement.

Document the pipe layout

Record inlet and outlet outside diameters, center-to-center spacing, pipe length, angle, orientation, bead or flare style, and any valves or additional fittings. Photograph the part from the front, rear, top, and connection side.

Confirm the vehicle

Provide make, model, chassis, production year, engine, and left- or right-hand-drive market where available. HVAC housings can differ within the same model family.

This guide supports parts identification and enquiry preparation. Final fitment, specifications, availability, testing, price, and delivery must be confirmed for the specific application and order.
